02.07.2007 | On Sunday 4 February 2007, the exhibition of the History of Jews in Bohemia and Moravia was opened on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of transport of Jews from Německý Brod and the nearby villages to Terezín. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by the regional rabbi Karol Efraim Sidon and the Director of the Vysočina Museum, Jiří Jedlička.

Židovské tradice

The exhibition of the History of Jews in Bohemia and Moravia, Jewish traditions and customs are borrowed from the Jewish Museum in Prague. It is supplemented by borrowed exhibits from Německý Brod, Ledeč nad Sázavou and the close vicinity. It also includes a project for children from the elementary school in Štoky, who mapped the life of a Jewish family in Německý Brod within the project. With the exhibition, which will last until 16 April 2007, the museum has prepared an accompanying programme for the public and for schools.

By participating in the project, B:TECH wants to support mapping of this neglected historical period in the Havlíčkův Brod Region.
